Danelle is a mom, wife, daughter, sister, and former Rear Admiral. She was born in Buffalo, New York and is a 1989 graduate of Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts in History where she received her commission as an officer from the     U. S. Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps in a ceremony aboard USS Constitution.  She has over 30 years of proven leadership expertise in innovative cyber, digital and telecommunications strategy development and global operations. She built high performing teams, driving culture and enterprise level change with focus and integrity.

As an admiral, Danelle served as Director of Current Operations at U.S. Cyber Command, and as the Director of Navy Cyber Security and Deputy Chief Information Officer on the Chief of Naval Operations staff.   In her last position in the U.S. Navy, she led the Navy’s strategic development and execution of digital and cyber security efforts, enterprise information technology improvements and cloud policy and governance for 700K personnel across a global network.  An innovator, she implemented visionary digital transformation to modernize with unprecedented speed, significantly improving Navy Information Warfare capabilities.  Her numerous operational assignments included deployments to Iraq, on an aircraft carrier in support of operations in Afghanistan and to Haiti providing humanitarian assistance and disaster relief after the 2010 earthquake.

She currently executes a portfolio of work that includes consulting, public speaking, and writing.  She is an Independent Director on the Corporate Boards of Progressive Insurance, the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York, ShoulderUp Technology Acquisition Corporation, and the Protego Trust Bank, N.A.  Oh and for fun, she signs up to be an extra in movies. 

Danelle holds Master of Arts degrees in Management, Human Resource Development, and National Security and Strategic Studies, a Master of Science degree in Information, Management and Chief Information Officer and Information Assurance Officer certifications.

 

She has won numerous awards and published 41 articles on cyber, technology, innovation and leadership. She is an experienced public speaker for over 20 years on technology and leadership.
